Do dreams have meaning?

Do dreams have meaning, or are they just random activity of the brain, that have no meaning?

Re: Do dreams have meaning?

All dreams have meanings some more noticable than others, the subconcious mind takes over when we sleep and it plays out dramas that we have gone through in our waking state,it helps make sense of what has happened, and the subconcious makes us more relaxed thats why some people say that spirit have visited them with messages,

Re: Do dreams have meaning?

Dreams are all about our feelings. This is how our minds process our days events, and feelings about self and the day.

Re: Do dreams have meaning?

Good to see you posting your weird dreams here, where I can read them and reply. Your dream make an interesting challenge for me. This dream may mean you are going some where, and getting out of a situation of some kind.

Re: Do dreams have meaning?

You had survived the injuries from the wars you had with your ex. The dream shows you are recovering.

Re: Do dreams have meaning?

I wrote this out once already and I lost it.. It wouldn't let me post..
This is a dream I had 4 days ago.. I still remember it as it was so vivid..
I was working in the A/E dept of my local hospital, I was triaging cases prior to the patient being seen by the doc on duty..
A young man was brought in, he was in a distressed state, blood pouring from his mouth and unable to communicate.. I opened his mouth and shone a light inside.. I was shocked to see that his tongue had been surgically removed... I could clearly see the exposed root of the tongue and the ligament and blood vessel had been cleanly cut..      I was shocked as there was nothing I could do for him, it was beyond my field of expertise.. I called the duty doctor in and then woke up.....
I cannot stop thinking about this poor young man with his life changing injury....and that fact I felt there was nothing I could do to help him..

Feel free to discuss this one, all ideas will be read with interest...

Re: Do dreams have meaning?

Yes, I think most have meaning. I've had dreams that have come true. Some unfortunate.
If I don't tell myself to remember a dream I don't remember it. I used to journal all my dreams. I have a lot in a word document. I have 245 files in my "Dream folder". One word doc is 81 pages as a master journal of all my dreams. I did not start journaling my dreams until 2009 in depth. After 2011 I slacked off due to work. I enjoy my dreams. Have had some nightmares in the past but mostly they are observant dreams. I'm sure it is for lessons and sometime they are confusing.

Re: Do dreams have meaning?

I have never been so methodical as to document any myself butitit was a significant dream I find thememory stays and is crustal clear een a dream I had when I was only 8 and I never forgot it..
I do have a large dream catcher that hangs in my bedroom  .. Generally I do not have bad dreams..
To my understanding Dreams occur during Rem sleep and I find for me most take place just before dawn..

For years I worked night duty in the Intensive Care Unit of my local hospital.. Because of the responsibility of being the Sister in charge, even if I went into the office on a break, I found it difficult to switch off mentally.
I knew if someone arrested or any other emergency or an  admission, I'd have to spring out of the chair and be on the ball etc instantly.. When you have had to do this for years it ruins your sleep pattern and it is a permanent change..
I thought a change would help so I became a community midwifery sister.. I had to do 8 on call night a month!!  in addition to full time days.  Get bleeped and called  in the middle of the night to deliver a baby on a farm in the middle of nowhere...   Is it any wonder I rarely sleep through..http://cdn.boardhost.com/emoticons/happy.png
  But I survive..
I bet your word docs are a great read...

This dream may indicate you are in a real life situation where you feel that you are unable to communicate. You feel you can not do any thing about it. Also the dream may indicate there is someone in your life that is unable to communicate and you can do nothing about it.
